In Touch With the Earth: Seasonal Cooking

I’m Back!!

Oh, my beloved readers, I’m so sorry!

I’ve been on extended hiatus and I apologize.   I missed you guys so much!  But it couldn’t be helped, we had to move .

Undoubtedly this was the worst move I’ve ever done.  I’ve never allowed myself to accumulate much before this, but when Nick and I moved in together our parents decided that it was time to give us everything that they no longer wanted.  Nick got old books and baseball cards galore.  I got enough circa 1980s camping gear to let me live in the woods for a year.  I also allowed myself to start nesting.  While I have to be forced kicking and screaming to spend money on things like jeans or shoes, I’m incapable of leaving a store without a box of Corningware or Pyrex.  This made everything worse.  Moving the kitchen was unbelievable.  It took us three days.

On the bright side, however, we’re done.  Done done done!  I have two new roommates: Brynne of previous Earthbound Kitchen fame and James who makes some of the best soup I’ve ever slurped.

In the next week I’ll get back on track with cooking and posting, I promise.  I’ve cooked some good stuff while I was on posting hiatus.  I made an entirely local peach pie (local flour and honey), a scallop pasta, a black berry cobbler, and shrimp quesadillas.  I shall write about them all.
